Who should practice Pilates?

Pilates is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, race, size, ability, or current fitness level. If you’ve been looking for a new workout routine that can give you a good balance of flexibility, strength, muscle tone and help for a few aches and pain, Pilates may be the answer. Simply pull out your gym mat and get ready to do a series of movements that will strengthen your muscles from head to toe, increase your mobility, challenge your coordination, and improve your endurance. The movements may look simply but they take a lot of precision and control. If you practice Pilates regularly, you’ll get stronger, more sculpted muscles and gain flexibility.

Human beings are creatures of habit: we walk a certain way, we sleep certain way, we stand a certain way, and we sit at our desk a certain way and that affects our muscles recruitment. Pilates helps us to counteract these habits and to find a better balance. It can also give you more resilience and help with your alignment in a way that also improves your posture, leading you to walk straighter and sturdier. If we’re exercising, getting the blood flowing and strengthening our muscles we feel better and happier and that supports our overall well-being.

Add Pilates to your wellness routine: it’s a head-to-toe workout that challenges you and literally transforms your body, increases your flexibility, strength, and balance. New classes start form 22nd of February at the Jubilee Pavilion in Stapleford. Sign up now and secure your place now.

I’m practicing Pilates since I was pregnant with my first girl, 17 years ago. As a marathon runner, manager of a sport mad family of four, soft tissue therapist, dog owner and lover of life Pilates and the incredible people I met through it helped me in so many ways that it was obvious to become an instructor myself and to share the love. I’m a certified APPI instructor (The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute) with advanced training in Women’s Health (Ante & Post Natal, Menopause and Pelvic floor). Please get in contact for any further questions. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
